Cottage Tour
For 30 years, my family has owned a summer home on Lake Utopia near St. George, NB. One day, I decided to walk around everywhere taking photos so I could make a virtual tour for your viewing pleasure.

The driveway. The cottage itself is to the right, out of view.

Standing in the same spot, looking towards the cottage now. My mother is relaxing
after working on something with the stands set up to the left.

Looking towards the public nature trail behind my cottage. The trail, which isn't
used too much, used to be a railroad connecting Saint John and St. Stephen.

Looking up the driveway.

Another back view, showing the entrance to the kitchen. To get my
sister inside, we wheel her up the ramp shown
here.

The fire place that sits outside by the kitchen entrance. This used to be inside,
but we moved it outside because we never used it.

Standing in the same spot, looking towards our neighbour's cottage and our shed.
Lots of greenery visible in this shot.

"Fort Island". When I was younger, this was my main hang out and relaxation spot.
I had some old carpets covering the rock, and a log connecting the higher ground
to the rock. I had ropes to balance myself on the log so I wouldn't fall off.
Something very interesting happened to me on this rock. A few years ago, I was sitting there
and relaxing one day. I was there probably for about 10 minutes with nothing to do, except
sit and take in the air. For no reason at all, I got up and walked away from the rock, towards
the cottage. I guess I just got bored at that instant. I didn't really want to go anywheres,
so I turned back heading towards the rock again. My timing couldn't have been better.
At that moment, I heard the sound a giant branch falling from the trees above onto the rock
exactly where I was sitting. The branch was large and heavy enough to have killed me that day
if it struck me in the head while I was sitting there. When I told my family what happened,
we were all stunned.
