Camp Rotary

For as long as I can remember, Elaine has been going to Camp Rotary in Grand Lake, New Brunswick. Perhaps they best describe themselves on their web site:

Camp Rotary on Grand Lake has been offering summer camp adventures for people with disabilities in New Brunswick since 1952. Originally operated as a therapeutic recreation centre for children with physical disabilities, the camp now offers a host of summer time activities for children and adults at any ability level.

In the photo at the top of this page, you'll notice a red round thing in the centre known as the "Barf Machine". Whenever I went to the camp to drop off Elaine or pick her up, I would always jump onto this barf machine and go round and round on it. They took it out a few years ago though. Sad day for Paul. I guess it got unsafe because it was so old.

Camp Rotary now offers my parents the only relief from caring for my sister that they ever get - 1 week during the summer. She always has a lot of fun at camp, and she becomes friends with all of the counsellors and campers.
