Elaine's Last School Bus Ride Video
Since recording it, I have watched the video of Elaine's last school bus ride dozens of times. I had to watch it several times at the beginning in order to get the video camera to play it right. Most of the time, it didn't want to play at all. Once it was working, I quickly transferred it to VHS and later into my computer where I edited it a bit and added some extra effects.
Choice of Music
Since the video camera that I used to record Elaine's last school bus ride was failing, playback was a challenge and my initial attempts to transfer the video to VHS did not include audio. Instead of dead silence, I dubbed the video with an Unchained Melody remix by DJ Mystik, a song that sounded appropriate for background music.
I did all of this in haste and I didn't realize until later just how appropriate the music was. At the exact moment that the bus attendant wheels Elaine onto the lift and begins to descent for the last time, the music changes to a very dramatic tone. I could not have timed it better that day if I tried, and I had no idea it would work out that way. You can see what I mean in the video.
